MG Cloud EV Teased First Teaser Out; India Launch Imminent
Expected to launch in the coming days, the Cloud EV will be the third offering in MG’s EV lineup after the ZS EV and Comet EV.
Mumbai, July 29: MG Motor India is expected to launch its new electric vehicle, the Cloud EV in the Indian market very soon. The brand has been testing the EV in the country as quite a few spy images have surfaced on multiple occasions. To move things further, MG has dropped the first teaser of the Cloud EV on official channels, confirming its India debut is imminent. If the recent reports are to be believed, the Chinese-owned British automaker could introduce the MG Cloud EV in September.
Dubbed as intelligent Crossover Utility Vehiclr (CUV), the MG Cloud EV will be the third offering in MG’s EV lineup after the ZS EV and Comet EV. The teaser video gives us a glimpse of the upcoming MG Cloud EV confirming LED light bar for the fascia, sleek LED DRLs, new pair of wheels, backlit MG branding. MG could equip the Cloud EV with features like panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 2-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, electrically adjustable front seats, and more. It's worth noting that MG Cloud EV debut will be inline with the carmaker’s strategy for the Indian market to launch a new product every six months. In the global market, MG offers the Cloud EV with 50.6 kWh and 37.9 kWh battery packs, paired to an electric motor providing a claimed range of 460 km and 360 km, respectively. The former generates 170 hp and 280 Nm of power figures while the latter is good for 134 hp and 200 Nm. MG Cloud EV is expected to be priced competitively around INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will indirectly compete with upcoming Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon and XUV400.
