New Delhi, September 5: Mercedes-Benz has launched its new flagship EV, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, in India today. The German automobile maker's new car is different from the other electric vehicles launched in India as it comes with premium features, specifications, and a higher price. The new Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is launched in India at INR 2.25 crore (ex-showroom).

It is the company's first-ever Maybach EQS 680 electric SUV in India. This premium vehicle offers a longer range on a single charge. In terms of powertrain, the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV electric car comes with a 122 kWh battery paired with a dual electric motor. It is an AWD (all-wheel-drive) vehicle that generates a maximum of 649 hp and 950 Nm peak torque. The battery-electric motor helps the luxury EV achieve 0-100 kmph within four seconds. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV claims a range of around 600 km on a single charge.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 has connected LED headlights, taillamps, and a huge waterfall grille, distinguishing it from other models. The car's interior has the same measurements except for these notable changes. Inside, several luxurious features add to the comfort and safety of the driver and passengers. 

It comes with ABS, ADAS, 360-degree cameras, traction control and EDB. The luxury SUV EV has Nappa leather seats, a Burmester 4D surround sound system with 15 speakers, powered curtains, and infotainment control on the rear. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV comes with 11.6-inch displays on the rear for the entertainment of the passengers. It also offers an MBUX tablet on the rear, which can be removed and used outside the car. 

Mercedes-Benz India also offers two optional packages to customers—a Chauffeur package and a First-Class Rear package that includes four USB C-type ports, an MBUX rear tablet shelf, thermal cup holders, and two HDMI interfaces. Priced at INR 2.25 crore, the new Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV EV is expected to compete with India's most expensive luxury EV, the Lotus Eletre. The 200W DC fast charger helps the company achieve 10% to 80% power within a claimed 31 minutes. The company also highlighted that the car could offer up to 300 km within 20 minutes of charge, based on various conditions.
