Maruti Suzuki India, country's leading auto manufacturing company has officially announced price hike for its entire line up in India. The car maker announced increase in prices for its models by up to Rs 6100 due to increase in commodity and distribution costs. The change in prices has also been affected by adverse foreign exchange rates. However, the new prices are effective from 16 August onwards and it varies from model to model. The new prices on Maruti Suzuki cars are effective from today on-wards. The Indo-Japanese car maker sells around 11 models in the country which includes Alto, Wagon R, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Ignis, Ciaz, Baleno and S-cross. The entry level Alto 800 small car is priced at Rs 2.51 lakh whereas the mid-sized sedan Ciaz is available for purchase at Rs 11.51 lakh (All Prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The popular models like Maruti Swift hatchback, Dzire compact sedan, Ertiga MPV and Baleno premium hatchback also sees a hike in their prices. Other car makers like Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda & Tata Motors too have increase prices for their cars from August due to rising input costs. As a reminder, Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up to launch the new Ciaz sedan in India followed by all-new Ertiga MPV. Moreover, several important information about the new Ciaz has been leaked online revealing variant details, mileage, powertrain and much more. It is rumoured that Maruti will launch the new 2018 Ciaz facelift with a new 1.5-litre K-series unit with 5-speed manual and 4-speed AMT.
