Mahindra & Mahindra, country's leading utility maker will be launching the new Mahindra XUV500 facelift in India on April 18. The much anticipated all-new Mahindra XUV500 facelift 2018 will carry substantial updates not only on the outside but also inside the cabin along with power upgrades as well. To be offered in 5 trim levels, the facelifted avatar of Mahindra XUV500 will be seen in two new exterior shades - Mystic Cooper and Crimson Red. Talking about the exterior design, the updated Mahindra XUV500 gets major upgrades featuring new chrome grille which is underlined by reworked front bumper, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, dual-tone faux skid plate, new diamond cut alloy wheels, revamped tail light and more. On the inside, the cabin is expected to carry all-black layout complemented by leather seats with quilted cross stitching giving a premium look. In terms of features, the new Mahindra XUV500 is expected to sport touchscreen infotainment system, Power Adjustable Driver's seat, tyre pressure monitoring system, Follow-me-Home Headlamps, ABS and dual airbags and more.
Mechanically, the new facelifted version of Mahindra XUV500 is expected to be seen with a choice of petrol and diesel engine. The former will be a 2.2-litre petrol mill that will make make maximum power of 140 hp while the former will be a 2.2-litre diesel in 2 state of tune - 140hp for the lower variants and 155hp for top-of-the-line variant. The diesel engine will be mated to a 6-generation turbocharger along with new ‘eVGT’ technology. Once launched in the domestic market, the all-new XUV500 will be pitted against the rivals such as Jeep Compass, Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta, Tata Hexa and Toyota Innova Crysta. Lastly, the new Mahindra XUV500 facelift is expected to be slightly premium than the outgoing model by around Rs. 30,000. The homegrown SUV maker will launch the all-new XUV500 with all-new design and platform in the domestic market by 2020.
