Mahindra's sub-compact SUV, XUV300 has been awarded with 5-stars safety rating for adult occupant and 4-star for child occupant safety in crash tests in the Global NCAP tests. It is important to note that the total score awarded to Mahindra XUV300 SUV is more than the Tata Nexon SUV and Altroz premium hatchback. As per the report from Global NCAP, the Mahindra XUV300 offered good protection on head and neck for the driver and co-passenger. Moreover, the SUV also offered adequate protection to driver's chest while offering good protection for the passenger. Notably, the XUV300 scored the highest points on adult occupant protection i.e. 16.42 out of 17), child 37.44 out of 49 for child occupant protection. As a reminder, the Tata Altroz was awarded with 16.13 points & 29 points on adult occupant protection & child occupant protection respectively.

Moreover, the child seat on Mahindra XUV300 was capable of preventing excessive forward movement by giving fair protection to the chest. The 1.5-year old child dummy also showed good protection offered by the car. The testing vehicle was equipped with dual-airbags, ABS, seat belt pre-tensioners, ISOFIX and seat belt reminder.

Mahindra XUV300 SUV is offered with a starting price of Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up till Rs 12.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre turbo unit capable of making 110hp of maximum power with torque of 200Nm. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is a 1.5-litre oil burner seen on Marazzo MPV. The engine can produce 117hp & 300Nm of power figures. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with an optional AMT offered on the diesel version.
