Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading automobile manufacturer has officially revealed the production name of its upcoming SUV, which was codenamed as S201. Christened as Mahindra XUV300, the SUV will compete against the likes of Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. The forthcoming XUV300 SUV take its design inspirations from a Chettah. To be based on SsangYong Tivoli's platform, Mahindra XUV300 will be offered in petrol and diesel versions. Mahindra S201 Brand Name & Design Details To Be Announced on December 19, 2018.

The company will be launching the SUV in the Indian market by the first half of February, 2019. Moreover, the SUV will be manufactured at Mahindra's facility in Nashik. The upcoming Mahindra XUV300 will be offered with Cheetah inspired design, fun to drive performance, premium interiors, hi-tech features, best-in-class safety features and much more.

On the exterior front, the sub-compact will sport big Headlamps, large boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights and more. The SUV will also carry

roof-mounted spoiler with brake light along with beefy rear bumper.

Inside the cabin, the new Mahindra XUV300 will be pretty much identical to the one offered on Mahindra XUV500. It is expected to feature dual tone scheme with black and beige paints. The dashboard on the XUV300 will feature touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. Features-wise, the SUV will be offered with leather interior, automatic climate control, 7 airbags, rear parking camera and lot more.

As far as the powertrain options are concerned, Mahindra will be offering the Mahindra S201 SUV in both petrol and diesel iterations. The petrol engine could be 1.2-litre G80 turbocharged unit. The transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The company will not be launching the automatic version of the SUV as of now. More details about the SUV will be revealed at the launch event, which will take place by early February, 2019.
