Raising the bars for the safety of the vehicle, Mahindra & Mahindra has officially announced that its latest MPV offering - Mahindra Marazzo has achieved 4 star safety ratings for adult protection at the Global NCAP. The Marazzo MPV comes equipped with safety features like dual-airbags, ABS, seat-belt reminders (SBR) for driver and ISOFIX anchorages that has helped the vehicle achieve the strong rating. According to the report from Global NCAP, the crash test rating for Marazzo is valid for all the units manufactured from November 16, 2018. The report also highlighted that the protection offered for driver and passenger's head as well as neck was good during the crash. Meanwhile, the chest protection for the driver offered in marginal whereas the passenger gets adequate protection at the chest area. The protection offered around the knee area for the driver as well as the passenger are adequate to withstand an impact. The report also underlined that the body-shell of Marazzo was rated as stable post impact and the same found capable of withstanding further loadings. As far as child occupant protection is concerned, the child seat with ISOFIX mounts was installed forward facing, which made the head vulnerable during an impact. Whereas, the 18-month-old CRS (child restraint system) installed with ISOFIX offered good protection not only for head but also for chest.
After bagging these ratings, Marazzo has become the safest MPV currently on offer in the Indian market. Pitted against New Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta, the Marazzo MPV is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh and goes up till Rs 13.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Moreover, the company has also announced that the prices for Marazzo will be increased from next month onwards that will be in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.
