KTM India will be launching the new KTM 790 Duke aka 'The Scalpel' in the Indian market today. The launch event is scheduled to commence from 12PM IST onwards.


KTM 790 Duke is one of the most awaited motorcycles in the country, which will be launched today in India. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer will be revealing the prices for the new KTM 790 Duke for the Indian market at an event, which is scheduled to kick-start from 11:30AM IST onwards. Several dealers across the country have already started taking bookings for the naked middleweight bike with token amount of Rs 30,000. Powering the KTM 790 Duke is a 799cc, parallel-twin engine which will be tuned to produce 105bhp and 86Nm of power figures. The engine will be clubbed with a 6-speed gearbox. On the feature-front, the motorcycle will be loaded with slipper clutch, two-way quick shifter, lean sensitive cornering ABS, three mode traction control, four riding modes - Street, Track, Rain, and Supermoto. Additionally, the bike will also get wheelie control, launch control, LED headlamp and a TFT instrument console. KTM 790 Duke Motorcycle To Be Launched in India on September 23.

The motorcycle will be fitted with 300 mm dual front discs upfront and a 240 mm single disc at the rear with J.Juan calipers. For suspension, the motorcycle will be carried out by a WP-sourced upside down forks up front with monoshock at the rear.

To be introduced in the country through CKD route, the bike is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scalpel will take on Triumph Street Triple, Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and others.
