According to the market reports, it is speculated that the Korean auto maker could be launching the much awaited SUV in India on August 22. The upcoming Kia Seltos reportedly will sport a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with company's UVO Connect features. Additionally, the SUV could also come with an 8-speaker Bose audio system, head-up display, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps.
On the mechanical front, the car maker could introduce the SUV in three powertrain options, including two petrol and one diesel units. The petrol mill could be a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated Smartstream petrol engine, which will be tuned to produce 113 bhp of maximum power against peak torque of 144Nm. The second petrol engine is likely to be a 1.4-litre, turbocharged unit. It is expected to make 138 BHP and 242 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel engine reportedly could be a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine capable of making maximum power of 113 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch.
Lastly, the auto manufacturer will be looking to keep the prices pretty competitive than the rivals. We expect that the SUV might be launched in India with prices in the bracket of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
