Mumbai, September 2: South Korean automaker Kia Motor India registered a 17 per cent Year-On-Year (Y-o-Y) growth for the month of August 2024. Compared to 19,219 units sold in the corresponding month last year, Kia despatched 22,523 units in the previous month for the domestic market. As Kia continues to strengthen its hold in the Indian car market, the majority of the sales were driven by the Sonet subcompact SUV.

The Kia Sonet subcompact SUV has been a flag bearer for the carmaker’s success, registering 10,073 despatches last month. It was followed by the Seltos with 6,536 units. However, the Carens and EV6 recorded sales of 5,881 units and 33 units, respectively. It is worth noting that the company exported 2,604 units last month, showcasing a strong demand for Make In India products. Hyundai Motor Sales Drop 12% to 63,175 Units in August 2024.
