Mumbai, October 4: The American SUV maker Jeep has launched the limited-edition Compass Anniversary to commemorate eight years in the Indian market. The Jeep Compass Anniversary edition, which is priced at INR 25.26 lakh (ex-showroom, India), sits in between the mid-spec Longitude (O) and Limited (O) variants of the Compass SUV. The limited-run Compass gets exterior upgrades along with exclusive accessories that can be purchased at authorised dealerships and the official India website. Here’s what is different on the special edition of the Compass SUV.
Compared to the standard model, the evident changes on the Compass Anniversary edition are cosmetic ones that can be noticed immediately. The cosmetic design updates include a black and red hood decal with ‘Adventure Edition’ lettering on the hood that differentiates it from the regular model. Another differentiator is the front grille, which gets the same 7-slot design, wherein one slot sports a red accent, while other slots are chrome-finished. Apart from this, other design elements on the variant remain the same as the Longitude (O) variant.
On the inside, the limited-run Compass Anniversary edition carries a dual-tone interior theme with red leather seat upholstery. Other additions include an integrated dashcam, white ambient lighting, and a red-finished front and rear centre armrest. The standard version of the SUV comes in all-black interior theme. Under the hood, it gets the same 2.0-litre diesel engine offered on the standard version of the Compass. The oil burner is good for 170 PS and 350 Nm while paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This model comes only with a front wheel drive setup.
