It was last year when Suzuki Motors introduced a limited-edition Jimny XL Heritage 3-door in Australia. The SUV saw a massive response as it went sold out in just two days. Banking on the same strategy, the automaker has launched the Suzuki Jimny XL Heritage 5-Door in the Australian market. With only 500 units to be produced, the company says that this limited-run special edition SUV pays homage to the Jimny’s 4x4 history from the 70s, 80s and 90s with its retro design. Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2024, Honda Amaze 2024 Launch Expected Soon in India.
The limited-run Jimny SUV features unique heritage body decals, red front and rear mudflaps, a Heritage cargo tray, and a Heritage pack. Suzuki offers the Jimny XL Heritage in four colours - White, Chiffon Ivory + Bluish Black Pearl, Jungle Green, Bluish Black Pearl and Granite Grey Metallic.
As for features, the SUV comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto climate control, 6 airbags, LED headlights, hill-hold control, hill-descent control and much more. Unlike the India-spec variant, the Jimny XL also gets an ADAS suite with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard fitment as a part of local safety norms compliance.
The 5-door Jimny sold in the Australian market gets the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine seen on the India-made model. However, the unit is slightly de-tuned to make 100hp of maximum power with peak torque of 130Nm. The SUV makes 5hp and 4Nm less than the Indian model. The special edition Jimny XL Heritage is available with only a 5-speed manual transmission, but the SUV also gets an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV is priced in India between Rs. 12.74 lakh and Rs. 14.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
