Mumbai, October 1: Czech automaker Skoda is all set to enter the EV space with its fully electric Elroq, which will be unveiled globally today in Prague. It will be Skoda’s first electric SUV and will be launched in Europe first followed by other markets. The Skoda Elroq will be based on Volkswagen Group's tried-and-tested MEB platform. Recent teaser and design sketches give us a fair idea how the electric SUV would look like. It will be online with the brand's new 'Modern Solid' design language.

As seen in the design sketches, the Skoda Elroq SUV will flaunt a sharp front fascia featuring boomerang-shaped matrix LED headlamps with cubed LED DRLs. It will get Skoda's new logo with dark chrome. Another interesting highlight will be Skoda's new Timiano Green colour, which will debut with the Elroq SUV. The electric SUV will pack a prominent roof spoiler and slim-looking LED tail lights. Other visual highlights include all-black chrome accents on the centrally positioned lettering on the tailgate and the 2D logo on alloys. Nissan Magnite Facelift Interior Teased; Tata Nexon Rival To Get Bigger Touchscreen Infotainment Unit, Dual-Tone Cabin.

Currently, there's no official confirmation from Skoda if the Elroq electric SUV will hit the Indian shores. However, Skoda is expected to bring the Kylaq compact SUV to India ahead of the Elroq, even if the brand has such plans. The former, when launched, will take on the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
