Hyundai Verna Wins 2018 Indian Car of the Year Award
Verna had a very tough competition with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which scored just 1 point lesser than Verna.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd’s car Hyundai Verna has bagged the accolade of 2018 Car of the Year. The Indian Car Of the Year awards selected the next-gen Verna as the ultimate winner of the ceremony. Well, that is just another feather in the cap of Hyundai who have been winning such accolades. The jury consisted of prominent members from respective automotive fields. Verna had a tough competition against the likes of Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire, Tata’s Nexon, Renault’s Captur to name a few.
All the cars were judged on several parameters like performance, pricing, style, features, innovations and of course the value for money. Hyundai Verna not only got a good response from the customers but even critics had favoured it soon since its launch in August 2017. The stylish sedan has received about 7000 bookings in just a month of its launch. Needless to say, it became the best selling car in India in a short span.
The car has two engine variants, 1.6-litre capacity petrol or diesel motors. It also has manual and automatic gear options. The car has an engine of 1582 cc and an average mileage of 15.92 kmpl. Some of the other features include multi-function steering wheel, hands-free door open and adjustable seats. It also offers front and rear cup-holders.
Verna had a very tough competition with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which scored just 1 point lesser than Verna. Hyundai has won total five awards for its cars Verna, Creta, Elite i20, Grand i10 and i10 for the year 2018, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2008 respectively. So, this year too they have another shining feather in their crown. Verna’s technical strength and stylish design gave it the desired results. The car received over 26,000 bookings in India and over 10,500 orders from the global market.
