Mumbai, August 19: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recently expanded its Venue lineup by introducing an S+ variant of the Venue sub-compact SUV which comes equipped with an electric sunroof. Priced at INR 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom), the new variant is available on a single trim that draws power from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Positioned between S and S(O) variants, the new Venue S+ variant is priced at INR 11,000 more than the regular S(O) variant. It’s INR 65,000 cheaper than the S(O)+ variant introduced recently.
The new S+ variant has been introduced to cater for the increasing demand for sunroof-equipped models, which follow in the footsteps of the S(O)+ variant. For features, the Kia Sonet rival comes loaded with a digital cluster with colour MID, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, rear AC vents, and more. For safety, the SUV gets six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist Control (HSAC), and more. Under the hood, the subcompact SUV packs a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 82bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 114Nm. The transmission option includes only a single five-speed manual gearbox. As for pricing, the base variant of the Hyundai Venue costs INR 7.94 lakh, while the top-end trim carries a price tag of INR 13.48 lakh (All prices ex-showroom).
