Hyundai Kona Electric SUV Launching in India on July 9, 2019; Expected Price, Features & Specifications

Hyundai India is all set to launch the much awaited Hyundai Kona Electric SUV in the country. The electric SUV will be making its India debut on July 9. The SUV is expected to be priced in the bracket of Rs 25 - 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

After launching the Venue compact SUV in India, the South Korean automaker is gearing up to launch another vehicle in the country. This time around it will be an electric vehicle. The car maker will be making an official entry into the Indian electric vehicle space with the new Hyundai Kona. The car maker has officially announced that Kona electric SUV will be launched in India on July 9, 2019 via official Facebook & Twitter accounts. The upcoming Hyundai Kona will sport an impressive design upfront featuring a closed-off grille along with twin headlights. The SUV will also be equipped with LED headlamps, LED DRLs and LED taillights. The SUV will also flaunt 17-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, we could see a 7-inch digital cluster, 8-inch touchscreen, paddle shifter, an electronic gear shift button and much more.

The international version of Hyundai Kona is offered with two battery options - 39.2 kWh and 64 kWh. We are not sure which version of Hyundai Kona will be launched in India. Some rumours hint that the Indian market could get both the versions. The standard trim is capable of making 136 hp and 395 Nm of power figures whereas the bigger trim can make 204 hp and 395 Nm of power and torque respectively. As far as the driving range is concerned, the standard trim comes with a range of 312km whereas the upper trim can cover 482km in a single charge. The top speed of both the versions stand at 155 kmph and 167 kmph respectively.

The company also claims that the lithium-ion batteries on the Hyundai Kona are liquid-cooled that ensures optimal performance and efficiency. The car maker also claims that the batteries can recharged up to 80 percent in less than an hour with 100 kW DC fast charging station. Lastly, we can expect Hyundai Kona to be priced in the bracket of Rs 25 - 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
