Mumbai, June 27: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) officially confirmed on Friday that it had sold 1 lakh units of the 2024 Creta mid-size SUV in the Indian market. With an average of 550 units sold daily, the Hyundai Creta became the fastest-selling SUV to achieve this feat surpassing Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which took 12 months to hit the 1-lakh unit mark. The price of the 2024 Hyundai Creta starts from INR 11 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the base E manual variant and goes up to INR 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end DSL SX(O) DT variant.

Hyundai launched the latest version of the Creta in January this year, and the SUV has achieved the sales milestone just six months after its India launch. For the uninitiated, the Creta was introduced in 2015, and it has been dominating the mid-size SUV space. The Hyundai Creta SUV is available in 23 variants across seven trim options, of which 15 are petrol and 7 are diesel. Moreover, Hyundai Creta’s sporty version - N Line, is also available in the country. It uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 158 BHP and 253 Nm. Hyundai offers the Creta facelift with a choice of three engines. It includes a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit, a 1.5-litre oil burner and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor. The 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines make 113 bhp & 144 Nm and 158 bhp & 253 Nm of power figures. The oil burner is good for 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Apart from the 6-speed MT, other transmission options include an intelligent variable transmission (IVT), a 6-speed AT and a 7-speed DCT.
