After unveiling the Aura sedan in India this month, the South Korean automaker is gearing up to launch the car in the Indian market. According to the recent reports, it is speculated that the carmaker could launch the Hyundai Aura compact sedan in India on January 21, 2020. To be introduced as a successor to Hyundai Xcent, the sub-compact sedan is based on the new Grand i10 Nios. Interestingly, the company will continue to sell the Hyundai Xcent sedan via its fleet portfolio.  The pre-launch bookings of the sedan are likely to commence by the first week of January. On the exterior front, the new 2020 Hyundai Aura compact sedan gets trapezoidal grille with integrated boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlamps, projector fog lamps, a shark fin antenna, a 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, C-shaped tail lamps with LED inserts and much more.

Though the company hasn't revealed the interior of the sedan, it is speculated to be similar to that of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. On the feature-front, the sedan could sport an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 5.3-inch digital MID, wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and much more. Mechanically, the sedan will come in BS6 compliant two petrol and one diesel engine options. The petrol units are a 1.2-litre engine and 1.0-litre turbocharged motors that are lifted from Nios and Venue respectively. The former is tuned to make 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque while the latter is capable of churning out 100PS and 172Nm of power figures. The diesel motor, on the other hand, will be a 1.2-litre diesel engine from Nios that will make 75PS/190Nm. All the engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an AMT unit. As far as the prices are concerned, the sub-compact sedan from Hyundai India is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the car will be pitted against the arch-rivals like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor, Ford Aspire and Honda Amaze.
