Hero MotoCorp is working hard on building its reputation back in the market by working on a new bike- a Karizma model. Karizma is one of the reputed brand developed by Hero but over the years it has just sunk in the market. The company officials are obviously not happy with this and are considering developing newer and better models for the Indian as well as international markets. This newer model might just make its debut in 2020’s Auto Expo.
It is too early to speak of the newer bike’s features but we can expect a new design language. It will have multiple features like dual disc brakes with an Anti-Lock Braking System, a digital-analogue instrument cluster and a sporty seat. Let’s see if the makers put a bigger, newer engine or utilize the old 223cc mill. The new Hero Karizma is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.2 lakh.
Back in 2003, when Karizma was launched, it was a very popular motorbike. It has two variants- Karizma R and Karizma ZMR. The Karizma R was discounted later. But the company tried to go experimental and introduced new generation Karizma ZMR incorporating Erik Buell Racing features. Not everyone was happy with this and preferred other options in the market. And looking at the current market situation, the Karizma is only falling low. In the last financial year, there were only 289 new sales and 48 units in export. For Hero MotoCorp such figures are an utter disappointment. It is one of the brands which dominated the Indian market quite well in the motorcycle segment.
So it is actually a necessity for the company to make a comeback. Let us hope they do make something really suiting and appealing the generation, to have their sales skyrocketing again. But it is still some wait of years before we get our hands on. But we can hope it would be worth the wait.
