The new Ford Freestyle has been launched in India at Rs. 5.09 lakh (ex-showroom). While, the top end variant is priced at Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Ford India will reveal the prices for the new Ford Freestyle soon. However, we speculate that the CUV will be priced in the range of Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Freestyle comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is also offered on Ford Figo hatchback. The oil burner generates 100PS of max power with 215Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual.
The 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine on the Freestyle is tuned to make 96PS @ 6500 rpm with peak torque of 120 Nm @ 4250 rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Anurag Mehrotra says that the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be soon offered on the entire lineup. The system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The sporty appeal of the Freestyle is highlighted by 15-inch alloy wheels, body cladding, roof rails and much more.

Ford, a popular American car maker is all set to the Ford Freestyle which is touted as India’s first Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) in the market today. The new compact vehicle will sit in between Figo hatchback and EcoSport sub-compact SUV in Ford’s product lineup for the domestic market. Expected to get a starting of Rs. 6 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Freestyle will be offered in 4 trim levels - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ that will be pitted against the likes of Hyundai Active i20, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Urban Cross. On the exterior front, the new Ford Freestyle comes with bold blacked honeycomb grille which gives a muscular look upfront and further accentuated by smoked headlamps and C-shaped fog lamps. Moreover, the sporty appeal of the vehicle is underlined by equipments like skid plates, metallic roof rails, 15-inch alloy wheels, blacked ORVMs, body coloured door handles and more. Moving on to interior, the overall appeal of the cabin is highlighted by a Sienna themed dashboard which is well color coordinated with the seats, door accents and other equipments inside. It is loaded with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, rear view camera, rain sensing wipers, start stop button, Key-less entry and more. It also comes with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ARP, rear view camera and emergency assistance for enhanced safety of the passengers. Under the hood, there are 2 engine options seen on the new Ford Freestyle which comes with only 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine is 1.2-liter Dragon 3-cylinder unit while the diesel is a 1.5-litre oil burner. The former makes maximum power of 96PS @ 6500 rpm with peak torque of 120 Nm @ 4250 rpm while the latter develops 100PS of peak power @ 3750 rpm with max torque of 215Nm @ 1750-3000 rpm. The new Freestyle is claimed to return mileage of 19 kmpl and 24.4 kmpl for petrol and diesel variants respectively.
