Ford India has finally launched the new Ford Freestyle Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) in India today with introductory prices. Launched at Rs. 5.09 lakh (ex-showroom), the American car maker unveiled the new Ford Freestyle in the domestic market early this year in January. The top end model of the Freestyle is priced at 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact utility vehicle is available in 6 exterior tones - Moondust Silver, Absolute Black, Canyon Ridge, Oxford White, White Gold and Smoke Grey. The exterior front of the newly launched CUV gets a bold blacked honeycomb grille along with smoked headlamps, C-shaped fog lamps that enhances the muscular appeal. Moreover, the vehicle also get skid plates, roof rails, 15-inch alloy wheels, blacked ORVMs and body coloured door handles. At the rear, the CUV sport chunky rear bumper, new tail lights and more. On the inside, the cabin gets charcoal black layout with Sienna themed seats along with hi-tech features. It gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, rear camera, automatic climate control, dual airbags plus ABS with EBD as standard, ARP, emergency assistance and more.
Talking about the powertrain options, the new Ford Freestyle gets 1.2-liter Dragon series petrol engine and 1.5-litre Figo lifted diesel engine. While the former is capable of making maximum power of 96PS @ 6500 rpm with peak torque of 120 Nm @ 4250 rpm, the latter is tuned to produce max power of 100PS with peak torque of 215Nm. On the mileage front, the car is claimed to return fuel economy of 19 kmpl and 24.4 kmpl for petrol and diesel variants respectively. Coming to the price point, the new Ford Freestyle is priced in the range of Rs 5.09 lakh to Rs. 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) which takes on Hyundai Active i20, Fiat Urban Cross and Toyota Etios Cross.
