After the launch of new EcoSport in the domestic market, Ford India is yet again gearing up to roll out country’s first compact utility vehicle in the compact crossover space. With the online bookings to commence from 14th April via Amazon India, the consumers willing to buy the vehicle can pre book the all-new Freestyle with token amount of Rs. 10,000. Expected to be launched in India on April 18, the Freestyle CUV can be pre-booked offline through authorised Ford dealers across the country. Moreover, only 100 units of the all-new Freestyle will be available for online booking. Considering the details revealed on the website, the all-new Ford Freestyle will be seen in 4 variants - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.  The main underlines of the Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) are the features such as touchscreen infotainment system, automatic headlamps, automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers and electric ORVMs which will be seen on the selected variants only. Safety-wise, the all-new Freestyle will be equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, high-speed warning and reverse parking sensors as standard fitment throughout the variants. Mechanically, the new Ford Freestyle will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options when launched in the country. The petrol variant will be powered by new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder mill capable of making 95 BHP of max power with peak torque of 120 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel unit is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder motor lifted from the Figo hatchback. The diesel engine is capable of generating peak power of 99 BHP and max torque of 215Nm. Transmission functionality on both the engines will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Once launched in the market, the new Ford Freestyle will compete against Fiat Urban Cross, Toyota Etios Cross and Hyundai Active i20.
