Ferrari's New Portofino Sports Car Launched in India; Priced at Whooping Rs 3.5 Crore

Ferrari, a well-known Italian carmaker has finally introduced a new Ferrari Portofino sports car in India at Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom India). The new Portofino is rolled out as a replacement to California T model making it the most affordable Ferrari from the stable of the Italian carmaker. Initially, the sports car made its official debut at Ferrari's 70th anniversary celebrations last year. The sports car derive its name from an Italian fishing village, Portofino is a convertible with a hard-top that sports a chiselled front profile with boomerang shaped LED head lights. Under the hood, the new Ferrari Portofino sports car comes with the same 3.9-litre twin turbo V8 engine that was offered on California T. However, the unit is updated comprehensively for new workings. The engine is capable of making 600PS of maximum power with peak torque of 760Nm @ 5250 rpm. The reworked engine produces 50PS extra power along with additional 5Nm torque than the predecessor. As far as the performance is concerned, the new Ferrari Portofino is capable of achieving three mark figure (100kmph) in just 3.5 seconds before attaining the top speed of 320 kmph. The company will be selling the newly launched Portofino sports car through Delhi and Mumbai dealerships - Select Cars and Navnit Motors. The sports car uses a new aluminium chassis which is claimed to be not only stiffer but also 80 kgs lighter than the California, and a new aerodynamic package for torsional rigidity and aerodynamic efficiency. Inside the cabin, the sports car gets luxurious interior cabin featuring the finest leather and Alcantara. It sports a new steering wheel, 10.2-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay, 5-inch TFT instrument cluster along with traditional analogue dials and a new air-conditioning system and much more.
