After launching Multistrada 1260 and 1260 S last week, Ducati India has launched the top-spec Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak in India today. Priced at Rs. 21.42 lakh (ex-showroom India), the motorcycle will be made available in the country in limited units only. However, the company has not specified the number of bikes that will be sold in the country. In comparison to the regular 1260, the Pikes Peak is pricier by Rs. 5.43 lakh in the domestic market. As far as the deliveries are concerned, the company has started dispatching 1260 and 1260 S whereas the deliveries for the Pikes Peak are slated to commence by mid of next month.
As far as the engine specs are concerned, the newly launched Pikes Peak is powered by the same 1262cc liquid cooled L-Twin unit which is also offered on the other two variants. The motor is capable of developing 158hp of power @ 9500 rpm and 129.5Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle features Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT) that in combination with Desmo valve actuation results in good low-end torque. Saudi Women Rev Up Motorbikes as End to Driving Ban Nears.
On the feature front, the Pike Peak variant comes with all the features offered on the standard variant. In addition to features offered on the regular variants, the top-spec variant is fitted with the Ohlins suspension at both ends, a bi-directional quick-shifter, cornering ABS, a Termignoni exhaust system and several carbon-fibre fitments. Moreover, it also comes with back-lit handlebar controls, automatic turn indicator cancellation, 4 riding modes-Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro, Ducati Wheelie Control, cruise control and hands-free connectivity.
Flaunting its race-inspired paint scheme, the motorcycle is equipped with new aluminium wheels that are lighter than the one offered on Multistrada 1260 S. However, a coloured TFT display on the instrument panel, Full LED headlight and cornering lights are also exclusively provided on the Pikes Peak and 1260 S motorcycles. On the competition front, the bike will be pitted against the likes of BMW S 1000 XR Pro which is priced at 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
