Mumbai, July 21: Citroen India is all set to launch the highly awaited Basalt Coupe SUV in the country next month. The French automaker will unveil the new Citroen Basalt to the public on August 2, 2024. Ahead of its India debut, the automaker has released a teaser video on social media, giving us a sneak peek of its cabin and features that will be offered with the SUV. The soon-to-be-launched Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV will be based on the C3 Aircross SUV.

The teaser video reveals details of the overall cabin, confirming the existence of a floating touchscreen infotainment system on offer sporting a textured panel on the dashboard. The overall cabin layout is likely to be inspired by the C3 Aircross, but expect some changes to make its cabin more premium touch. Apart from this, the teaser also sheds some light on the exterior elements of the Citroen Basalt, confirming the presence of projector headlights with LED DRLs. When launched, the Basalt Coupe SUV will take on rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder, and the upcoming Tata Curvv. Mahindra Thar ROXX 5-Door SUV Teased Ahead of August 15 Launch.

Citroen has initial plans to launch only the ICE version in India. It is expected to source its powerhouse from C3 Aircross which is a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit that makes 115 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. The mill will come clubbed with a 6-speed manual and a torque converter sending power to the front wheels.
