Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer, has officially announced the launch of its new Himalayan motorcycle in India. Formally launched with a starting price of Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike now comes with BS6 compliant engine, a bunch of new features and new colour options. The interested customers can book the new adventure tourer across all stores in India starting January 20 onwards. Moreover, the company is also offering a 3-year warranty with the new Himalayan featuring Bharat Stage VI compliant engine. The new RE Himalayan will now be available in three new exciting shades which also includes two dual-tone paint scheme. The two dual-tone paint jobs are Lake Blue and Rock Red that are available at Rs 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The existing range of colours comprises of Snow White, Granite Black, Sleet Grey, and Gravel Grey. While, the Sleet Grey and Gravel Grey variants are priced for Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from the new shades, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan comes with switchable ABS, Hazard switch and more.

Mechanically, the new Himalayan adventure tourer comes with a 411cc, BS6 compliant petrol engine. However, the company hasn't revealed the exact power and torque figures of the new Himalayan motorcycle yet. The same is expected to announced soon. As a reminder, the BS4 unit is tuned to make 24.5 bhp of maximum power with peak torque of 32Nm. Additionally, the company has also retained the long-travel suspension as well as 21-/17-inch spoke wheel setup.

It is important to note that the company has updated its official website with the new prices. The new Himalayan gets a starting price of Rs 1.86 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.91 lakh (All Price Ex-showroom). As far as the competition is concerned, the newly launched Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 model takes on rivals such as Kawasaki Versys X-300, BMW G 310 GS and forthcoming KTM 390 ADV.
