Mumbai, July 24: German luxury automaker BMW will officially launch three highly-awaited models today in the Indian market. The new-generation BMW 5 Series, refreshed MINI Cooper S and electrified Countryman E are a part of the lot that will go official in the country alongside the BMW CE 04 electric scooter, which is also a part of the event. BMW 5 Series LWB will sport a new design language highlighted by a new illuminated kidney grille, angular headlights, pronounced front bumpers and a technologically advanced interior. The car will be available in the 530Li M Sport variant at the launch. Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid technology producing 205 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. BMW Group will also launch the MINI Cooper 3-door and Countryman Electric alongside the BMW 5 Series. It’s worth noting that MINI unveiled both models globally in September last year. The company commenced bookings for the Cooper S and Countryman Electric across India a few days ago.

MINI Cooper S will flaunt a redesigned grille, new round LED headlamps with signature LED DRLs and Union Jack-themed taillights, giving a fresh appeal to the exterior design. However, the silhouette mostly remains unchanged. The car will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit making 201 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds. Nissan X-Trail Bookings Open in India Ahead of Launch on August 1.
