BMW Motorrad, a well-known German marque is all set to launch two much-awaited - BMW G 310R and BMW G 310 GS motorcycles in India today. The company already started pre-bookings for the same earlier in June, this year. Interested buyers can pre-book the same with an upfront payment of Rs. 50,000. Touted as affordable motorcycles from the Bavarian two-wheelers, the BMW G 310 R is a naked streetfighter whereas the other, G 310 GS is an adventure tourer. Moreover, both the motorcycles were also put on display at this year's Auto Expo in Delhi.

The company has already started dispatching both the motorcycles to the dealerships as they have been spotted at the outlets ahead of their launch. Both the bikes are manufactured at TVS Motor's facility in Hosur as they are already on sale in the international market. As a part of TVS-BMW alliance that happened in the year 2013, the entire product from an engine to frame is entirely developed by BMW Motorrad while TVS plays an essential role in producing the cost-effective base for the motorcycles. Powering both the motorcycles comes powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit that can develop a maximum power of 34PS @ 9,500rpm and 28Nm of peak torque @ 7,500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. It comes with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.

Once launched in the country, BMW G 310 R street fighter will take on KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo XT 300, Bajaj Dominar 400 and others in the segment whereas BMW G 310 GS will clash against Royal Enfield Himalayan and Kawasaki Versys-X 300. Coming to the prices the German marque will be looking to keep the costs pretty competitive considering the amount of competition already in the segment. The BMW G 310 R motorcycle is likely to be priced below Rs. 3 lakh mark while the adventure tourer version could be priced slightly over Rs. 3 lakh. The deliveries are expected to commence from November onwards.
