BMW G 310 GS, BMW G 310 R Bikes Likely to Launch in India on July 18; Expected Price, Features & Specifications
BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS motorcycles are expected to be launched in the country on July 18.
It was earlier this month when BMW Motorrad India initiated the bookings for the much awaited BMW G 310 twins in the country. Now, it is learnt that the Bavarian manufacturer could launch the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS in India on July 18. As a reminder, both the motorcycles - BMW G 310 R and G 310GS were put on display at this year’s Auto Expo in February. Interested buyers can pre-book both the bike across all BMW dealerships throughout the country with payment of Rs. 50,000 as a booking amount. Currently, both the motorcycles are already on sale in the international markets that are exported from India.
As far as power specs are concerned, both the motorcycle comes powered by a 313cc, liquid cooled single cylinder unit which is tuned to make 34PS of maximum power @ 9500 rpm and peak torque of 28Nm @ 7500 rpm. To be built at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur plant, the BMW G 310 R is a street naked version while the other G 310 GS is an adventure tourer. The latter will sport longer travel suspension and larger front wheel than the G 310 R. The adventure tourer is expected to get dual purpose tyres as well as engine sump guard. Enhancing the overall safety, both the bikes are equipped with ABS as standard.
As far as the prices are concerned, there is no official details from the company yet. However, it is speculated that the street naked motorcycle is expected to get a price tag of around Rs. 3 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the adventure tourer could be priced around Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched in the country, BMW G 310 R will take on KTM 390 Duke in the naked street category, while BMW G 310 GS will be pitted against Royal Enfield Himalayan under the premium affordable adventure touring space.
