Bajaj Auto, the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer officially announced the launch of the much awaited Chetak scooter in India. The company officially reintroduced the iconic 'Chetak' brand in India, but in an electric avatar. Launched at a starting price of Rs 1 lakh, the electric scooter will be available for bookings with an upfront payment of Rs 2,000. The scooter comes in two variants - Urbane and Premium offering wide range of colour options and high-end features. Notably, the scooter will be made available for customers initially in Pune and Bengaluru followed by other Indian cities. The test-rides for Chetak is now open at selected KTM dealerships in Pune and Bengaluru only. As far as the deliveries are concerned, the company will be initiating them by the end of next month. The company claims that Bajaj Chetak requires minimal maintenance with service interval of 12,000 kms or one year whichever is earlier. Additionally, the newly launched Chetak scooter comes with an overall warranty of 3 years or 50,000 kms which also includes the lithium-ion battery. The newly launched Chetak scooter flaunt its timeless design underlined by all-metal body, horseshoe shaped LED headlight with DRLs, feather-touch electronic switches, all-digital instrument panel, sequential rear LED blinkers and more.
