New Delhi, July 22: Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike was launched in India this month with a bi-fuel system that allows riders to seamlessly switch between CNG and petrol fuel options. The bike was launched for people who commute for longer distances, which aims to help them save on travel costs, said the company. According to a report by Autocar India, more Bajaj Freedom CNG bikes will be introduced in India as the Indian automaker plans to expand its range. The upcoming Freedom CNG bikes would likely launch with both smaller and larger engine options, catering to a wider audience. After the launch of the world's first CNG bike, Bajaj Auto witnessed great demand from states including Maharashtra and Gujarat, pushing deliveries for up to 45 days. The report highlighted a statement by Bajaj Auto Executive Director Rakesh Sharma during a call with the company's investors. Rakesh Sharma said, "Freedom is our portfolio brand, not just a product brand", hinting at adding more bikes under the Freedom brand. In the future, Bajaj Auto will reportedly introduce three new variants under Bajaj Freedom 125 that would offer higher and lower-powered CNG options.
Bajaj Auto, the Indian automotive manufacturing company, would reportedly have an edge over the competitor Hero MotoCorp, which rules the 150cc segment. The company might offer affordable solutions to customers looking for more mileage. Bajaj Auto reportedly holds 15% of the market, and the recently launched Freedom 125 CNG bike, which costs INR 95,000 onwards, could hint at the company offering more affordable solutions in its bi-fuel bike category.
