Mumbai, May 7: Maruti Suzuki will officially unveil the much-awaited new-generation Swift in India on May 9, 2024. The carmaker has commenced bookings for the new-generation Maruti Swift with a token amount of Rs. 11,000, and it will be retailed via Maruti Suzuki’s Arena showrooms across the country. The soon-to-be-launched hatchback has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its price announcement, and the images reveal the car in its full glory. Design:
Maruti's next-gen Swift will see major design updates over the outgoing model giving it an all-new persona. The car now gets new projector LED headlamps along with LED DRLs positioned in between the new grille. The rear looks somewhat similar to the outgoing model.
Interior:
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will see significant updates on the inside. The cabin will sport a new layout as that of the global-spec model. Feature-wise, the hatch will come equipped with a 9-inch floating touchscreen information unit, larger instrument cluster, Arkamys sound system, wireless charging, new upholstery, rear AC vents, flat-bottom steering wheel, and more.
Variants & Colours:
As per the latest leaked information online, the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to be available in five variants - LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi, and ZXi+, of which VXi (O) will be a new variant. Maruti could offer the Swift in nine colours, of which Luster Blue and Novel Orange will be two new shades.
Features:
In terms of features, the updated Swift hatchback will flaunt new features such as a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment screen, wireless charger, six airbags (standard), Arkamys sound system, rear AC vents, Type C charging port, and LED fog lamps.
Engine and Specifications:
Under the hood, there will be a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z series petrol engine. It is the same unit which powers the global-spec model. The unit makes about 80 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque while mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission. The new Swift will be slightly underpowered than the current generation. The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will be more fuel efficient than the outgoing. The car is expected to return a mileage of 25.72 kmpl.
Price and Competition:
As for pricing, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to be priced in between Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The car will continue to take on the likes of the Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand i10.
