Tata Motors, a home-grown automaker has finally revealed the launch date of the much awaited Tata Harrier SUV. The Indian car maker will be launching the Tata Harrier SUV in the country on January 23, 2019. Another interesting part is that first owners will be taking deliveries of the Harrier SUV. The car maker also exhibiting the forthcoming SUV at several shopping malls across 11 cities. Moreover, the company is already accepting bookings for the new Harrier SUV with upfront payment of Rs 30,000. To be offered in 5-seater configuration, the SUV will be seen in 4 trim levels - XE, XM, XT and XZ. Tata Harrier SUV has been developed in collaboration with JLR, as it employs Land Rover’s D8 architecture and monocoque construction. OMEGA ARC is also an important aspect that ensures superior driving dynamics for the SUV.

On the exterior front, the SUV carries an aerodynamic profile with stylish Xenon HID projector headlamps, LED DRLs cum turn indicators,  Xenon HID projector headlamps, flared wheel arches with contrast cladding, 3D LED tail lamps, and floating roof with bold chrome finisher. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4598mm in length, 1894mm in width and 1706mm in height whereas the wheelbase and ground clearance stands at 2741mm.

Inside the cabin, the Tata Harrier carries Oakwood themed dashboard with leather seat upholstery, and chrome accents. Feature-wise, the SUV also carries leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped gear shift knob, 8.8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, Nappa coating on dashboard, 9 JBL Speakers, 6-airbags, Hill Hold Control and much more. Under the bonnet, the 2019 Tata Harrier SUV comes powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0L Kyrotec turbocharged diesel engine. It is the same engine that is seen on Jeep Compass as well. However, the engine on Tata Harrier is tuned to make 140 PS and 350 Nm of power figures. Transmission duties are taken care by a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. As of now, Harrier will be seen in manual derivative only. The company will be launching Harrier with automatic transmission later on.
