Maruti Suzuki, country's leading automaker on Wednesday officially launched the new 2019 Maruti Ignis small car in India at a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom India). Packed with new safety features, the new Ignis hatchback gets Reverse Parking Assist System, Co-Driver Seat Belt Reminder and High Speed Alert System as standard features across all the variants. The new 2019 Ignis now comes with a distinct new look whereas the mechanical front remains unchanged. Further enhancing the overall design appeal, the company has added roof rails on the Zeta and Alpha variants. The new Ignis is offered in 4 trim levels - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The updated iteration of Ignis is also equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners and ISOFIX – child seat restraint system as standard. Dimensionally, the new Maruti Suzuki Ignis measures 3700mm, 1690mm and 1595mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase and ground clearance of the car stands at 2435mm and 180mm respectively.

The new 2019 Maruti Ignis is offered in 9 shades - Nexa Blue, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver, Pearl Arctic White, Tinsel Blue, Uptown Red, Tinsel Blue with Pearl Arctic White, Tinsel Blue with Midnight Black and Uptown Red  with Midnight Black.

Mechanically, the new Maruti Suzuki Ignis comes powered by the same 1.2-litre VVT, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The engine is tuned to make 81bhp @ 6000 rpm of maximum power with peak torque of 113Nm @ 4200 rpm. The company claims that the new 2019 Maruti Ignis is capable of returing fuel economy of 20.89 kmpl.
