Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will be launching the new CB300R motorcycle today at an event in New Delhi. Taking design inspirations from 'Neo sports cafe line', the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has confirmed that it will be brought into the Indian market via the CKD route. Moreover, the company has also stated that the bike will be launched in India below Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) price point. The company has already commenced the bookings for the motorcycle with upfront payment of Rs 5000. Honda's CB Shine Becomes Largest Selling 125-cc Bike.
The launch event of the new Honda CB300R is scheduled to commence at 12.15PM IST onwards. Honda will also be broadcasting the event straight from the venue at its official website and social media channels.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the new 2019 Honda CB300R motorcycle will be powered by 286cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that will be tuned to make 32PS of max power @ 8500 rpm against peak torque of 27.5Nm @ 7500 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle will be taken care by 37mm USD forks upfront with travel of 130mm whereas there will be 7-step pre-load adjustable monoshock setup at the rear. For deceleration, the Honda CB300R will get dual disc brakes with ABS.
The 2019 Honda CB300R motorcycle will flaunt the new 'Neo sports cafe line' design which is an amalgamation of modern and retro design. At the front, the motorcycle features a circular headlamp with an LCD instrument cluster giving some relevance to the baby CB1000R.
When launched in the domestic market, the new 2019 Honda CB300R motorcycle will be pitted against BMW G310R, KTM 390 Duke, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (price) and others in the segment.
