2019 BMW S1000 RR India Debut Soon; First Official Teaser Released

The new 2019 BMW S1000 RR motorcycle is expected to be launched in the Indian market soon, which has been officially teased on social media handles.

BMW Motorrad, the Bavarian Motorcycles showcased the third generation 2019 BMW S1000 RR motorcycle at last year's EICMA motorcycle show, which has been confirmed for the Indian market as well. BMW Motorrad India has officially teased the motorcycle at its social media handles. Expected to be launched in next couple of months, the new generation 2019 BMW S1000 RR gets updated looks and brand new powertrain. Aesthetically, the new BMW S1000 RR will now get an updated front end with new fairing and twin headlamp featuring LED DRLs. The overall design of the motorcycle will be sharp and edgy when compared to the outgoing model. The motorcycle will be offered with 4 riding modes - Road, Rain, Dynamic and Race. Dimension-wise, the motorcycle will measure 2,050 mm in length, 1,140 mm in height and 826 mm in width. However, the ground clearance and wheelbase of motorcycle stands at 120mm and 1,423mm respectively.

Powering the motorcycle is a brand new 998cc in-line 4-cylinder motor that will be making 204 bhp of max power @ 13500 rpm with peak torque of 113Nm @ 11,000 rpm. Designed with BMW ShiftCam Technology, the engine is designed to make enhanced power while at lower and medium engine range and increased top end power. Moreover, the upcoming motorcycle is around 10 kg lighter than the outgoing model which will enhance the power-to-weight ratio. It is important to note that the motor itself is 3kg lighter as the overall weight of the bike remains 197 kg.

Feature-wise, the new 2019 BMW S 1000 RR gets a 6.5-inch TFT instrument panel, bi-directional quick shifter as well as cruise control. It is also believed that BMW might also offer 'M' race package which includes carbon fibre wheels, racy livery and much more. The motorcycle will also be equipped with new six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit which includes ABS, ABS Pro, dynamic traction control, wheelie control and more.
