Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), a subsidiary of Japanese car maker finally will be launching the all-new Toyota Yaris in India today. The company has already revealed the prices for the Honda City Challenger that made officially debut at Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year. The authorized Toyota Dealerships across the country have already started taking pre-orders for the sedan with upfront payment of Rs. 50,000. To be offered in 8 variants, the new Toyota Yaris 2018 will get a starting price of Rs. 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The new 2018 Toyota Yaris comes with conventional Toyota design featuring chrome finished grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lights, fog lamps, wider air dams, turn indicators in ORVMs, shark fin antenna, 15-inch alloy wheels and much more. On the dimension front, the sedan measures 4425mm in length, 1730 mm in width and 1495mm in height whereas the wheelbase stands at 2550mm.
On the inside, the sedan comes with dual tone interior scheme with features like 7-inch LED touchscreen panel with navigation, MID display, cruise control, paddle shifters, rain sensing wipers, 7 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, TPMS, parking sensors with camera and much more. Talking about the mechanical front, the Japanese car maker will be launching the new Yaris 2018 sedan with single petrol engine only. The unit is a 1.5L Dual VVTi Gasoline Engine which is capable of making 107PS of max power @ 6000 rpm with peak torque of 140Nm @ 4200 rpm. The transmission duties on the sedan will be carried out 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT gearbox. On the mileage front, the sedan is claimed to return fuel economy of 17.1 kmpl for manual and 17.8 kmpl for CVT. In terms of competition, the new Toyota Yaris 2018 will compete in the mid-sized sedan space against Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento. As far as the prices are concerned, the Japanese car maker has already revealed the introductory prices for the sedan which will start from Rs. 8.75 lakh up to Rs. 14.07 lakh (All Prices Ex-showroom).
