2018 Jawa 350 Special Motorcycle Officially Unveiled; India Launch Unlikely

The newly introduced 2018 Jawa 350 Special motorcycle reintroduces company’s racing past which is based on Jawa 350 OHC.

It was in the year of 2016, when Mahindra procured at least 60 percent of stake in Classic Legends Private Limited – a company that is known for owning all BSA motorcycles. Moreover, the company also owns an exclusive brand license agreement with Jawa Moto for the Indian as well as other Asian markets. Mahindra is currently focusing on setting up retail showroom for selling Jawa motorcycles in India. Moreover, the Czech Republic brand has officially announced its third new product for the European market which is called as Jawa 350 Special. Talking about the styling element, the motorcycle brings back a glimpse of brand’s racing DNA of the past. The classic appeal of the motorcycle is underlined by larger fairing, extensive chrome elements and the retro colour tone that pleases the human eye. The motorcycle also flaunts the round shaped headlight cowl, upswept dual exhausts, flatter seat and café racer like look to the rear section.

Based on the Jawa 350 OHC, the newly introduced Jawa 350 Special motorcycle weighs 171kg which is 11kgs more than the former. Powering the motorcycle will be the same parallel-twin air-cooled motor which was employed on the Jawa 350 OHC that is made by Chinese manufacturer – Shinray featuring a fuel injection system from Delphi. As far as the power specifications are concerned, the 397cc engine is capable of developing maximum power of 27.7hp @ 6,500 rpm with 30.6Nm of peak torque @ 5,000 rpm. As far as the domestic launch is concerned, the motorcycle will not be introduced in the Indian market likewise 660 Vintage and 350 OHC. However, it is believed that a Jawa badged motorcycle will soon make its way in the domestic space which might share its engine platform with Mahindra Mojo. Yet, there are no official confirmation from the company as of now.
