Honda Car India is all set to launch the second generation Honda Amaze in India soon. Speculated to hit the Indian market by May 16, the variant wise details and features of the sub-compact sedan has been leaked ahead of the launch. The new 2018 Honda Amaze sedan will be offered in 4 trim levels - E, S, V and VX, reports TeamBHP. The sedan made its global debut at Indian Auto Expo earlier this year in February. Going by the leaked details, the entry level variant - E gets chrome grille upfront, dual-tone interiors with a piano black dashboard with air-conditioning on the console and more. The S variant of the new Amaze will feature body coloured door handles, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with LED turn signals and a shark fin antenna and much more. Moving forward, the S variant will carry all the features equipped on the E variant along with keyless entry, tilt steering with audio controls, adjustable front seat headrests, arm-rest with cup holders at the rear and 2-DIN audio system with 4 speakers and more.
Moreover, headlights with LED positioning lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, start / stop function, automatic climate control, electromagnetic trunk opening will be offered on V and V CVT variants. The top-end unit will be loaded with all the features offered on the lower variants and touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, cruise control, one-touch auto up and down function at driver side, pinch guard and more. Under the bonnet, the new generation Honda Amaze 2018 will be offered in petrol and diesel version likewise its predecessor. While, the petrol variant will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine capable of developing 89 BHP & peak torque of 110 Nm, while the diesel variant will get a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel making 99 BHP and 200 Nm of power figures.
Transmission duties on the new Amaze will be carried out by 5-speed manual or a CVT unit. On the mileage front, the new petrol variants on the Amaze will return 19.5 kmpl and 19 kmpl for manual and AT respectively. The manual and AT variants on the diesel iteration will proffer mileage of 27.8 kmpl and 23.8 kmpl respectively.
The new 2018 Honda Amaze sedan is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 5.5 lakh - 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda's newest offering will be pitted against the rivals such as Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Aspire and more in the sub-compact sedan space.
