2018 Honda Activa 125 Scooter Silently Launched; Price in India Starts From Rs 59,621
The new Honda Activa 125 is priced slightly premium than the previous model by Rs. 2116, as the scooter sports a new Silver color, new cosmetic updates and new features.
Honda 2Wheelers India has silently introduced the new 2018 Honda Activa 125 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 59,621 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Honda Activa 125 comes with host of upgrades, cosmetic updates and new features. With the increasing competition in the 125cc scooter space, the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the 2018 avatar of the scooter which will be pitted against the likes Suzuki Access, Aprilia SR125, Vespa VX, Honda Grazia and TVS NTorq. The 2018 edition of Activa 125 is also offered with a new matte silver paint scheme along with the existing paint shades. The new Activa 125 also flaunts integrated LED DRLs, LED headlamps, 4-in-1 lock with seat opener, revised instrument panel, 12-inch alloy wheels and much more. The updated instrument panel now features Eco Speed indicator and Service due indicator. Ensuring charging convenience on the go, the 2018 edition of Activa 125 continues to sport USB charging socket.
As far as the mechanical front is concerned, the new 2018 Honda Activa 125 continues to feature the same 124.9 cc single cylinder air cooled motor. The engine is capable of making 8 bhp of max power with peak torque of 10.54 Nm. The engine is mated to a CVT unit. For suspension, the scooter employs telescopic forks up front and a 3-step adjustable rear suspension.
The braking duties on the new Activa 125 are carried out by drum brakes at both the ends, however, front disc brake is offered as an option. Moreover, the scooter also comes with CBS as standard which complies with the new safety norms. The scooter will also compete with the upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street 125 which is slated to launch in India on July 19. It will also be pitted against Hero Maestro Edge and Duet 125 scooters that were revealed at Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year. The top-end DLX trim priced at Rs. 64,007 (ex-showroom Delhi) comes with metal muffler protector as standard.
