Undisclosed location in Balochistan [Pakistan], Nov 27 (ANI): Days after the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility of carrying out attack on Chinese consulate in Pakistan's Karachi city, its commander said it will continue the fight against Pakistan and China in Balochistan.
In an interview Aslam Baloch, commander of BLA claims the growing Chinese presence in the region is posing a threat to their fight for sovereignty against Pakistan.
He said, "For the past 15-20 years, Pakistani occupation in Balochistan has turned volatile since China has become its crime partner. China always remained favourable to Pakistan. But, for the past two decades, China has come on the forefront to become close partner of Pakistan in exploiting resources in Balochistan. China takes the major share, whereas the Punjabis are getting commission to kill the Baloch and destroy the villages. Baloch are facing serious consequences".
He added, "China is looting resources in Balochistan in the name of mega projects by calling it CPEC. However, in the wake of these mega projects in Balochistan and Sindh region, both China and Pakistan are strengthening their military power. They are fooling the international community in the name of CPEC".
Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has carried out several attacks against Chinese workers engaged in the multi-million dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Balochistan.
On August 10 this year, three Chinese engineers working at a Saindak copper-gold project in Balochistan were injured in a suicide bombing where their bus was targeted by a BLA bomber.
Aslam said, "In Sindh and Balochistan, China is running over 100 projects which are manned by the Chinese. Now, it has brought its own Army to provide protection to these Chinese workers. They are trying to counter any sort of criticism or opposition against its projects. Our people have carried out several protests against it, but they are unstoppable".
He added, "China and Pakistan are strong nations and the Baloch might fail to stop them. However, the Baloch want to tell the world that we are against such developments despite facing the atrocities. We have fewer resources, but we stand against their occupation. We have intensified our resistance because of their growing atrocities and occupation on our resources".
The chief of Baloch Liberation Front, Dr. Allah Nazar also criticized China for exploiting their resources and growing militarization in the region.
In an exclusive video interview Dr Nazar said, "China is working for its own interest and wants to expand its own business. It has now colluded with Punjab (Pakistan) establishment and has been extensively involved in the construction of the Gwadar Port and Saindak Project where the gold and copper is found in abundance. They have been plundering it calling it their prerogative and have been dividing amongst themselves (Punjab and China). The real owners do not have even drinking water".
"In the name of CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor), China is now seeking to control the coastal area of Pakistan which forced thousands of people to migrate. They are inviting foreign investors. Whole world is aware of the fact that Balochistan has been struggling for its sovereignty and its existence for two decades. We want to convey our message to the foreign investors that Balochistan is a disputed territory and a conflict zone hence the permission for any business won't be granted here".
Dr. Allah Nazar sought intervention by international human rights organizations to protect the rights of Baloch people, who have been struggling for seven decades.
He said, "We want to appeal to the United Nations, Amnesty International and Human Rights organizations that thousands of Baloch people have been killed, thousands of others are missing; Punjabis are carrying out genocides. So, it becomes the responsibility of the international community to back our struggle and stop the barbarity of Pakistan and if it fails to do so then history won't forgive it".
Thousands of Baloch intellectuals, political activists and student leaders are missing, allegedly abducted by the Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency.
According to human rights groups based in Balochistan, many of them have been killed and their mutilated bodies were found in isolated places.
Although Balochistan is Pakistan's largest and resource-rich province, the people here are living in poverty and they don't have proper drinking water and electricity. (ANI)
