New Delhi, Dec 12 (PTI) A case has been registered on the complaint of BJP leader Vinay Katiyar after he alleged getting death threat on his personal mobile phone from an unknown caller, police said on Thursday.

In his complaint, Katiyar stated that he received the call on Wednesday night when he was at his flat in North Avenue.

"The caller asked me if I was Vinay Katiyar speaking, when I said yes, the caller started abusing me. He said how long will you save yourself, you have only few days left and we will kill you," Katiyar stated.

When he enquired about the whereabouts of the caller, the accused said he was calling from Jantar Mantar and later his phone was found to be switched off, Katiyar stated in the complaint.

A case was registered under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code at the North Avenue police station, police said, adding that efforts are being taken to nab the accused.
