New Delhi, Oct 11 (PTI) Two professional beat drummers were arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones from RK Puram area here, police said on Thursday.

The accused were identified as Jawant (22) and Suraj (22), both residents of RK Puram, they said.

The duo was arrested during patrolling in the RK Puram area. Three stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession, the police said.

The accused was identified as Shokin, a resident of Haryana's Nuh district, they said.

On Wednesday, police received information that a person with illegal arms was found roaming near Dashrath Puri metro station, following which the suspect was apprehended, they said.

During interrogation, Shokin told the police that he was involved in several thefts in Delhi.

A country-made pistol, a live cartridge, a tempo and two motorcycles were recovered from his possession, the police said.

New Delhi, Oct 11 (PTI) Two men were arrested in separate incidents from Jamia Nagar here for allegedly stealing vehicles, the police said on Thursday.

The accused were identified as Shamim (32) and Arshad alias Guddu (50), both residents of Jamia Nagar, they said.

On Monday, Arshad was arrested when the police intercepted an auto that he was driving during checking of vehicles in Jamia University area at around 8 pm. Upon verification, it was found that the auto had been stolen from the Jamia Nagar area, they said.

Shamim was arrested in another incident on Monday while he was towing a car, which he had stolen from Kanjhwala area, with the help of a crane, the police said.

The car was parked Zakir Nagar area for several months after the theft. On Monday, Shamim tried to tow the car and was going to sell it to a scrap dealer, they added.

A car, two autos, a motorcycle and a crane were recovered from their possession, the police said.
