Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Nov 21 (ANI): Telangana Telugu Desam party president L. Ramana on Wednesday released the party's manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Hyderabad. It has also announced that it is looking to turn Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's camp office of 'Pragathi Bhavan' into a public hospital.

Pragathi Bhavan, which is constructed at a cost of Rs 38 crore on 9 acres land is equipped with all modern facilities, even with bullet-proof washrooms for which KCR has faced severe criticism and allegations of using public money for his own comfort.

The TDP, in the manifesto, promised to focus on welfare and social justice, making special promises to 1,200 families of the people who lost their lives during the Telangana agitation for separate statehood by giving Rs. 10 lakh, a house, and a job.

The party also promised to reopen Dharna Chowk and put pressure on the Centre to implement the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

The manifesto also stated that an additional budget of Rs 5,000 crore would be made for the infrastructural needs of educational institutes in Telangana, Jyotirao Phule and Ambedkar knowledge centers will be installed in every district. It also said that it would set up medical colleges, dental colleges, and animal husbandry colleges in every district in a phase-wise manner.

The party also promised to set up educational institutions in the name of Telangana idealogue Professor Jayashankar, free laptops for students (Class 8 to graduation students) and free bicycles to girl students from Class 8 onwards.

TDP also announced that Rs 15,000 will be given to the pregnant ladies, Rs 1.50 lakh for the marriage of women in the poor families, Rs.3000 pension for physically handicapped, Rs.2000 pension to orphans, individuals who are above 58 years. One candidate from each family will get 7 kg rice for 1 rupee, the party added.

For the farmers, the TDP said that a state-level Commission for fixing agricultural price would be formed and farmers would be supplied with 24-hour power supply.

The Telangana Legislative Assembly Elections are scheduled to be held on December 7 to elect members from 119 constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)
