Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Nov 1 (ANI): An awareness campaign on swine flu or H1N1 flu was launched at a hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The month-long campaign launched by Gandhi hospital in collaboration with helping hand foundation and ladies circle of the voluntary group will be carried out via a roadshow.

The volunteers while launching the campaign raised slogans like "spread the word not the germs."

As the winter months have started, many swine flu cases have been reported in the Gandhi hospital. Most of the swine flu patients fall between age-group of 45 to 60 years.

The volunteers of helping hands will travel extensively in and around Hyderabad to campaign for one month in all the public places like bus stops, Railway stations, malls, Metro stations and parks, making people aware about flu, and what precautionary measures should be taken to prevent spread of swine flu.

Some of the precautionary measures that could help prevent the infection are-repeatedly washing hands, masking faces, and maintaining distance while speaking to someone should be taken.(ANI)
