Washington, May 21 (PTI) The US and India today affirmed their strategic partnership as Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan met Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh in Argentina.
The meeting was held on the margins of the G-20 foreign ministers summit.
“The two leaders affirmed the strong US-India strategic partnership and India's status as a Major Defense Partner of the United States,” the State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said.
During the meeting, Sullivan and Singh also discussed the agenda for the inaugural 2+2 ministerial dialogue to be hosted in the coming months.
“They also discussed opportunities to advance stability in Afghanistan and the region,” Nauert said.
