Washington DC, [USA] Nov 04 (ANI): Oscar-winning American filmmaker Steve McQueen will possibly direct a musical for his next project.

McQueen of '12 Years A Slave' fame, in an interview with British Commentator Andrew Marr in his own talk show, revealed his desire to direct a musical as one of his next projects, reported Deadline.

He said that in order to make himself happy, he wants to direct a musical as he believes currently the world is "dark, it's heavy, there's no ifs, buts, maybes about it, it's so unsure and uncertain". He even added that his aim would be to make everyone in the process.

McQueen is currently promoting Viola Davis starrer crime drama 'Widows', which will release in the United Kingdom on November 6 and on November 16 in the United States.

'Widows' is a thriller about a group of women who takes a vow to finish the heist their husbands died attempting. It stars Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriquez, Cynthia Erivo, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Robert Duvall and Daniel Kaluuya

The British film director, who is also a recipient of BAFTA and Golden Globe Award, is well known for directing a film like Hunger (2008), based on the 1981 hunger strike in Ireland. (ANI)
