Paris, June 6: American tennis player Serena Williams on Sunday bowed out of the ongoing French Open. Kazakhstan's 21-year-old Elena Rybakina defeated Serena 6-3, 7-5 in the fourth-round match here at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Rybakina displayed her A-game against seasoned campaigner Serena and she threw the American off her game, winning the first set 6-3 and she was just one more set away from progressing to the quarterfinals.
