The All India Football Federation's (AIFF) technical committee on Thursday recommended former India international Langam Chaoba Devi's name for the position of head coach of the senior national women's team. Chaoba has represented India in two AFC Women's Championships and the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok and was formerly the assistant coach of the senior women's team. She is the current head coach of Kickstart FC, who are unbeaten and in second place in the IWL this season.
