Islamabad [Pakistan], Jul 14 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday hit out at the authorities for their decision to conduct former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's trail inside the Adiala jail.

While addressing the media, Shehbaz termed the incident as a 'mockery of the justice' and argued that only terrorists face trials inside the jail.

"We have come to know that they (Nawaz Sharif and Maryam) have been taken to Adiala jail and they will face trial inside the jail. Only terrorists are tried inside a jail. This is wrong. What message do you want to send across the country?" he questioned.

The PML-N president also condemned the case filed against the party for their 'peaceful protest' during the arrival of the Nawaz to the home country on Friday.

"When Nawaz Sharif came to Lahore, people were on streets, everyone was marching towards Lahore Airport. They were not asked to come, they came on their own. In my entire political career, I have never seen a rally like that," Shehbaz said.

He even urged the media to stand up and show the complete show, without fearing anyone.

The NAB on Friday night took Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz into custody in connection to the Avenfield reference case after their flight landed at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport at 8:48 p.m. (local time) amidst high drama.

The legal proceedings of the remaining two National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference cases against Nawaz and his family will take place in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

Sharif was awarded ten years in jail while his daughter got eight years of imprisonment along with others ahead of the general elections in Pakistan on July 25. (ANI)
